Arsenal draw Dortmund, Manchester City get Bayern – the Champions League draw in full
Last season’s finalists face the Premier League duo, with Manuel Pellegrini’s side hoping to reach the knockout stages for the first time, while Celtic face Barcelona and AC Milan Arsenal have been drawn with Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League while Manchester City will face holders Bayern Munich in the two headline ties for the group stage. The Gunners comfortably triumphed over Fenerbahce in the play-off round to reach competition proper for the 16th consecutive season, and will now face last season’s runners-
up, Italian side Napoli and Marseille to reach the knockout stages in Group F. City, meanwhile, will have to navigate past holders, Bayern Munich, if they are to reach the second round of the tournament for the first time at the third attempt. CSKA Moscow and Viktoria Plzen make up Group D. Chelsea, placed in Group E, have a relatively easier route to the knockout stage, being drawn against Schalke, Basel and Steaua Bucharest. Manchester United will face Shakhtar Donetsk for the first time, along with Bayer Leverkusen and Real Sociedad in Group A. Celtic have, again, been placed against some of Europe’s elite in the form of Barcelona, nine-time winners AC Milan and Ajax. Neil Lennon’s side, of course, beat the Liga champions at Celtic Park last season. Culled From :- Goal.Com
