Notorious Armed Robber "Godogodo" Reveals the Reason why He Killed DSS Official

LAGOS — Notorious robbery czar, AbiodunOgunjobi, aka Godogodo, who was arrestedrecently in Lagos State, is currently telling thepolice how he coordinated some of hisoperations within Lagos and some South-Western states.Source gathered that the 36-year-old native ofOgun State confessed to some high profiledeadly robbery operations within VictoriaIsland, Lekki and Ajah axis of state.Police said that Godogodo has also confessed tothe gruesome killing of four officials of theDepartment of State Services, DSS, whom hemet at Alpha Beach Hotel located around Lekkiarea of the state in August 2012.source learnt that Godogodo, who wasdischarged from the Lagos State UniversityTeaching Hospital, LASUTH, where he receivedtreatments from bullet wounds sustainedduring his arrest, weekend, told hisinterrogators, at the Special Anti-RobberySquad, SARS, that he was left with no optionthan to kill the DSS operatives who he saidposed immense danger to his operation in thehotel.A source who craved anonymity
said:"Godogodo didn't know that the people hekilled at Alpha Beach Hotel were DSS officials."He said a member of his gang he identified asYinusa, told him that some policemen whowere lodged in one of the hotel rooms had afisticuff with a member of his gang and whenhe went to the room, he said he opened fire oneverybody to prevent the police from attackinghim."source further gathered that the Lagos Stateoffice of the DSS is preparing to liaise with the Lagos State police command to prosecuteGodogodo.Meantime, euphoria was high in SARSdetention cell when Godogodo was brought infrom LASUTH.Sources said that other robbery suspectsdetained in the cells chanted Godogodo's nameas he was led into his cell.It was also gathered that the cell marshal whereGodogodo was detained relinquished hisposition as the head of the cell immediately hestepped in there.It was also gathered that the breakthrough thatled to Godogodo's arrest came after a three-week intensive search for the bandit in Ibadan,Oyo State.source gathered that the officer in charge ofSARS, Lagos, Abba Kyari, re-inforced the searchfor him few days after the gruesome murder ofthe owner of 04 Hotel in Ajah and six others.The search for Godogodo had been on in Lagosand the South-West for close to two decades.The policemen were already getting weary untilthe O4 hotel incident rejuvenated the search. .Sources said that Kyari intercepted informationlinking Godogodo to Ibandan and he was ableto arrest a close member of his family who ledpolice to his mansion at Olowu, Egbeda area ofIbadan.
