Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Kayode Fayemi and his Oyo State counterpart, Abiola Ajimobi, have commiserated with the family of the late ace photojournalist, Pa Peter Obe, who died on Sunday at the age of 81.
The governors, in separate statements by their media aides on Tuesday, said Obe’s death was a huge loss to the nation.
Fayemi, described the the ace photojournalist as a patriot.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Olayinka Oyebode, Fayemi said Obe redefined photo-journalism in the country.
The statement read, “Obe redefined photo-journalism on account of his adventurous and daring coverage of the 30-month Nigerian Civil War and turned what was, hitherto, regarded as a hobby to a dignified profession.
“The deceased brought dignity to the photographic section of the media which has grown in leaps and bounds since the likes of Obe pioneered a revolution in the sub-sector.”
It described the deceased as a “mobile museum of all the important historical events in the country.
