Rooney shows off thinning hair

He was recently forced to pull out of England’s imminent World Cup qualifiers with Moldova and Ukraine after injuring his head in a freak training ground accident.

But while the long scar that prompted his withdrawal was evident on his forehead, so too was the worryingly thin thatch of hair up top.

Indeed, the Manchester United striker’s scalp was clear to see during a day out  with wife Coleen and their two children at Apple Jacks farm in Warrington.

Wayne’s drastic hair loss was revealed as he courteously obliged a female fan with an autograph on Wednesday.

Little more than two-years ago the 27-year-old splashed out £30,000 on extensive hair transplant surgery to thicken his hair, which originally started thinning when he was in his early twenties.

While many would chose to keep such treatments secret, a delighted Wayne opted to share the results of his heavy spending with followers on Twitter.
