Top 5 Best Stand Up Comedians in Nigeria "2013"

1.    BASKET MOUTH  - Bright Okpocha aka Basketmouth started comedy in 1990, although back then it wasn't categorized as stand-up: it was called wording ("yabbing"). In 1991 Bright discovered he had skills as a drummer and a rapper and in 1995 formed a group called Da Psychopaths. Unfortunately they broke up before releasing any music. In 2000, 2face asked him to anchor a monthly show held at The Den in Ikeja, and it was during this period that Bright's impact on the entertainment industry really got going. It got bigger when he was called in by Tequila Events to perform alongside Julius Agwu on the Play Safe Tour.


 2.     SEYI LAW - In 2006, he made the big break right after he emerged the first winner of AY’s Open Mic Challenge. After then, he delved into comedy professionally in 2008. He won the Tush award in 2009, 2010, 2011 and in 2012; Future awards 2011, Modemen award 2011, Dynamix award 2009, and in 2011, The City People award for Best New comedian. Just in this year, 2012, he got up to six awards. And since then he has been performing in different shows.

3.    BOVI - Bovi Ugboma, actor, writer, comedian, MC, poet, producer! Born september 25th, 1979 in Benin city. Had his primary education in UNIBEN Staff School and voyaged through three secondary schools; Government College Ughelli, Edokpolor Grammar School Benin and Boys Model Secondary School, Onicha-Olona.

4.    Klint The Drunk - The mere mention of Anambra born Afamefuna Clinton, otherwise known as Klint D’ Drunk rings a bell in the entertainment industry. Whenever he appears, sorrows become a thing of the past.
