Patrice Evra Set For Manchester United Exit
Patrice Evra is edging closer to a Manchester United exit after boss David Moyes began his pursuit of Everton left-back Leighton Baines with a £12m bid.
Moyes wants Baines to follow him to Old Trafford and the Premier League champions made their first move for the 28-year-old earlier this week.
Should Moyes manage to seal the signing of Baines, the England international will not want to move to Old Trafford without the guarantee of regular first-team football, especially in a World Cup year. But that would leave 32-year-old Evra on the sidelines as he approaches the tail end of his career, a position he is not willing to be in.
It has been reported big-spending Monaco would be keen on snapping up the defender for £6m in a move which would see Evra return to the club he left in January 2006.
