Nigerian Footballer Taye Taiwo Risks Jail Over Tax Fraud Charges In France


Popular Nigerian Int’l footballer and defender for the Super Eagles, Taye Taiwo is currently in a messy legal battle after he was queried over tax fraud case brought against him in France.


An official judicial process to take over his mansion in Allauch has already started.

According to the authorities, the footballer didn’t pay his income taxes for 2008 & 2009.

We also learnt that in 2011, he didn’t pay any property taxes on his mansion.

They have put up his €600,000 mansion for sale at € 200,000.

In total, Taye Taiwo is owing the government of France, a whopping € 1,025,000 in taxes.

He has the option of paying back by installment through his legal advisor.

Taye Taiwo can also opt for delayed payment if he’s financially incapable of paying at this time.

The 28-yr-old Super Eagles defender is yet to officially respond to all these allegations

The talented footballer played for Olympique Marseille from 2005 to 2011 before joining AC Milan.

He is currently with Bursaspor (Turkish football club located in the city of Bursa) where he earns € 2 million per year.
